（中央社記者黃名璽聖多明哥市12日電）總統馬英九對美國麻州州議會關心八仙樂園粉塵爆燃案，表達由衷謝意，並強調政府將持續努力善後，盼能得到各國的協助。
其中，總統表示，美國燒燙傷協會已全體動員，願來台幫忙，「希望能得到一個好的結果。」
馬總統11日率團展開「久揚專案」，訪問中美洲及加勒比海友邦，過境美國東岸城市波士頓時，於僑宴感謝僑胞長久以來對中華民國的支持。
馬總統致詞表示，此行回到波士頓，受到僑胞及舊識熱烈歡迎，相當感動；尤其是看到僑胞對政府的支持及對他個人的肯定，更是深感欣慰。
由於今年適逢對日抗戰勝利及台灣光復70週年，馬總統強調，政府紀念抗戰並非歌頌戰爭，而是譴責侵略，並希望促進和平，「今年還有很長的一段時間，我們還會繼續從事這些工作。」
馬總統指出，為促進和平，上任後積極改善兩岸關係，如今雙邊在貿易投資及觀光交流等各領域皆達到過去66年來最穩定及繁茂的階段。
總統說，三國演義有一句「天下大事分久必合、合久必分」，但不論是分是合，「很少不打一仗」，但他相信兩岸人民有比祖先更充分的智慧，可以用和平方式解決爭端。事實上，雙方已找出和平共存的模式，就是政府目前所採行的「九二共識、一中各表」原則。
他強調，這項主張由台灣提出、中國大陸接受；提出後，有人稱其為「模稜兩可的傑作」（masterpieceof ambiguity）；不論模稜兩可與否，該原則確實發揮作用，雙方擱置目前還無法解決的主權爭議，並把精力放在對彼此有利的地方。
總而言之，總統說，兩岸交流對雙方皆有很大的幫助，因此希望未來能在「九二共識、一中各表」的原則下持續交流與互動。
馬總統進一步指出，過去36年來，台美關係越來越興旺，特別是在安全方面，雙邊合作的密切程度不會亞於斷交之前。
他表示，過去國父主張廢除不平等條約，經過長期努力，中華民國在民國32年與英、美等國訂定平等新約，恢復平等地位；而免簽證或落地簽證待遇更彰顯國際社會對中華民國的態度已由平等進步到禮遇，外交部的努力值得各界肯定。1040712
